The production practice of manganese carbonate ore dressing is less. The methods of high intensity magnetic separation, heavy medium dressing and flotation have been studied. Some sedimentary sulfur bearing manganese carbonate ores adopt the sequential preferential flotation process of carbonaceous shale, pyrite and manganese minerals. Some hydrothermal manganese carbonate ores containing lead and zinc adopt a flotation strong magnetic separation process. Some sulfur-containing and manganese rich ores, the manganese mineral is mainly rhodochrosite, and the roasting method can be used to remove sulfur. Some manganese rich carbonate ores are also produced by roasting to remove volatile components and obtain finished ores.
Manganese oxide and manganese carbonate ores contain some refractory ores. Manganese is closely associated with iron, phosphorus or gangue, and the embedded particle size is very fine, which is difficult to separate. Smelting method can be considered for treatment. For example, the manganese rich slag method for treating high phosphorus and high iron manganese ore, the nitric acid leaching method for producing active manganese dioxide and the electrolytic method for producing metal manganese have all been industrialized.
